Tribute to Oba Efuntola Adelabu Adefunmi

It is with both sadness and knowing that we acknowledge the passing of Oba Ofuntola Oseijeman Adefunmi (Oba Ko So!). He made solid contributions not only to the Orisa community, nationally and globally, but also the Black Nationalist Movement. For this I am eternally grateful and utterly humbled. He has provided the vision that many other lacked, resented or feared. He helped change the landscape forever. It is my pledge, and I hope the pledge of others to remind the best of what our Oba contributed to our community, to pour libation in his name and continue that work - in particular those of us that are of Afrikan heritage.
I also ask that we rally around and support the successor to the Adefunmi throne. Surely those of ill intentions, weak mind, racist inclinations and bad motives will suggest this is the end of an era
which has only truly just begun. Even those of us that practice Orisa Worship outside of the Oyotunji Lineage can be of great assistance in honoring and supporting the Adefunmi family and Oyotunji Clan. How can we deny that Spirit sanctioned their existence? How can we deny that Spirit orchestrated their rise to prominence? There is a place for them in my heart because it's obvious that the Orisa have made a place for them as well. So let us agree to treat the Oba as an Oba and to honor his contributions by supporting those that are accountable for carrying on his legacy.
In return we pray that Oba Adefunmi does not "die", but provides us insight from the land of the Egun!
