This historic celebration is a first in America. The CORONATION of an African, born in America as Oba (King).

The Oyotunji African Village, located at Sheldon,SC (USA) is supported in this epic event by our Grand Patron and King of all Yoruba worldwide, the Ooni of Ile Ife,Nigeria, His Divine Majesty Oba Okunade Sijuade Olubuse II.

Yoruba throughout the diaspora and Africa are expressing their excitement and support for this unprecedented event.

The Coronation follows the ascension of H.R.H. Oba Oseijeman Adefunmi I, founder of Oyotunji African Village, (1970) and Baale of North America by the grace of H.D.M. Oba Okunade Sijuade Olubuse II, Ooni of Ile Ife, Nigeria,
